Week 11

Thursday- Isobel's class did a paper on Systems Analyst Got issued with another assessment Right job Right skills. Used a different kind of coding with Kerry then we had a small quiz. Tutorial with Isobel updated my blog. Had a look at MY WORLD OF WORK web page.


Friday- Working with others with Steve went to put up our final posters in the smoking shed outside the college but they had not been laminated have to go back at lunch time to get them. Every thing else is  ready for Tuesdays smoking awareness project. Isobel's class computer systems carried on with our assessment about Earls ices. Duncan's class installing computer hardware Stuart and myself carried on with the assessment taking photos of us installing RAM and a Network Card. 

WEEK-10

Tuesday-Isobel's class customising software, we did some work on macro's using Excel and check out how to edit them if there were any errors. Practiced for our presentation on Thursday. Steve's class working with others went along to the Marketing Office to enquire about presentation boards .
Numeracy's continued working with the blog doing charts and graphs.


Thursday- Isobel's class communication in the I.T. industry did our power point presentation for assessment 1. Isobel video it a bit unusual standing in front of the camera but it went ok I think Kerry's class still some HTML to finish off. Started doing my own web site about Belfast. Tutorial with Isobel got the results back from our assessment 1 passed both parts.


Friday-Steve's class working with others started putting the posters up for our smoking awareness day on the 2nd of December. In with Isobel again carried on with my assessment 1 for computer systems. In the afternoon with Duncan we started another assessment. Working with Stuart taking photos of us installing a graphics card .

WEEK-9

Tuesday- Isobel's class started making macro and trying them out. Submitted an assessment for macros. Steve's class went along to marketing to show them the poster for our working with others project. Numeracy went to learning zone and looked at Blog.


Thursday- Isobel's class started doing some practice on excel templates and word templates Did some spread sheets templates as well. Web Development with Kerry carried on with the HTML coding. Tutorial with Isobel we were told about a compaction to design a logo and name for the new Hospitality Suite with a prize of £250 for the winner. She also told us about enrolling for next year which will open at the end of November.


Friday- Steve's class working with others went down to quality office to tell them we will be putting up the posters for our project on the 21st of November .Isobel's class got issued with a new assignment and started it of .Duncan's class went over product registration and documentation . Installed a network card and documented it.  Duncan install a video card to show us how to do it.

Week 8

Tuesday- Isobel's class worked on section 6 and 7 of customising software. Did a logo on fireworks and cover page. Finished of the work for section 7 Kidsgamer. Steve's class work on the poster for our smoking awareness day project Working With Others. Numeracy did some graphs and charts and look at metric and imperial conversions.

Thursday- Isobel's class made a template for our letter for Kidsgamers project. Submitted assessment PowerPoint for working in the I.T. industry. Continued with customising software did some themes ,a logo and business card for a company called Fixit Computers. Web design with Kerry carried on with HTML .Tutorial with Isobel finished off and submitted OS comparison Android against Windows7.


Friday- Steve's class Working With Others went to quality office to confirm the date for our project 2nd of December .  Isobel's class started an new project called Harry Singh Configuration case study.
Search the internet for a computer and found a compatible one at £998.15. Duncan's class we look at installing ram and different components and researched some test utilities products.

 

Week 7

Tuesday. Isobel's class had Duncan going over our presentation for working in the IT industry. Went down to the learning zone and continued with making a logo on fireworks. Steve's class carried on with our working with others project. Numeracy started looking at charts and graphs, did a few questions



Thursday. Carried on with working in the I. T. industry, made a logo and a cover page then loaded the logo onto the cover page and submitted it .Started  task 7 KidsGamers.
Web design with Kerry started working with html. Tutorial with Beverley carried on with KidsGamers.



Friday. Working with others with Steve went and seen Quality to confirm dates for our working with others project. Isobel's class carried on with price difference of computers built yourself or bought from a shop .Duncan's class compared upgrade prices and looked at installation process flowchart.  

Week 6

Tuesday Putting the finishing touches for our PowerPoint for Isobel .Working with others with Steve got into our groups to discus our project. Numeracy did the rest of assessment and passed.

Thursday, Uploaded open office to our virtual PC and change some of the features on it .Robert Burns talked to us about the WHEEL. Finished of my users assessment in Kerry's class ,she has still to look at it . Tutorial keeping diary up to date.

Friday Steve's class we carried on with our working with others project. We held a meeting and took minutes and allocated each person a job role in the group.  Isobel's class we upgraded the ram  in a computer and finished of a search for computers to build yourself. Duncan's class finished of assessment 7.2. HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Week 5

Tuesday passed first assessment for Duncan's class. Started putting things together for assessment for Isobel. Still no further forward with our working with others project for Steve. Started doing some worksheets on compound interest and looked at the formula in numeracy.

 Thursday. Continued with our assessment for Isobel doing a PowerPoint presentation about jobs in the I. T. industry. Started doing a storyboard for web development with Kerry then went to tutorial with Isobel talk about plagiarism.

Friday. Started to form our groups for our an awareness project for Steve. Change my motherboard paper foe Isobel as it was wrong then started researching the price of a computer with pacific components already installed.  Started assessment 7.2 with Duncan.

 Tuesday did virtual pc with Isobel all morning then in the afternoon we did some spread sheets
did some team building exercises with Steve. Numeracy did the first assessment then percentages work sheet.
Thursday work on the virtual pc again, did some work sheets on accessibility of the control panel and explaining how to do changes to it. With Kerry we did some work on web design and finished the first assessment
Friday did an interview scenario with Steve it went ok. Did some more work on the virtual PC with Isobel. Started looking at the next assessment with Duncan.

On Tuesday we looked at things employers look for in a person. Then we did some numeracy with Lesel . Discuss team building  with Steve.
Thursday. Finished of what employers look for. Did worksheet on the impact of I.T. Started first assessment with Kerry. Work on our Blog
Friday. Updated my CV with Steve. Did research into motherboards with Isobel.

Diary

Just spent 3 hours updating my CV and doing some work on the assignment 7.1 for Duncan's class great way to spend Sunday morning .

Today we went through the process of everybody in the class doing a PowerPoint presentation with Isobel. Everybody got through it OK


After lunch we had Kerry for Web Design,finished of the tasks she set us last week.She then gave us an extension assignment what I started before the end of class.

Later we started writing this Blog.
